Vehicle Handoff & Personal Property
There is no Phoenix website-wide rule promising that every assigned motor carrier will accept the same amount of personal property in a vehicle. Carrier, brokerage-partner, equipment, route and port rules can differ, and the responsible parties may impose weight, placement, content or security limits. Confirm the applicable written rule before packing the vehicle. Phoenix Auto Dispatch provides customer intake, shipment planning, coordination, documentation support and customer communication. When regulated transportation brokerage is required, that function is handled through an authorized transportation brokerage partner. Physical vehicle transportation is performed by an independent authorized motor carrier.
Get a Current QuoteSome auto-transport companies publish their own personal-item limits, but those company policies are not universal federal allowances for every vehicle shipment. Phoenix therefore does not copy a competitor weight limit and present it as a rule for all assigned carriers. Confirm what the responsible brokerage partner and motor carrier will accept for your shipment.
Items add weight and can shift or obstruct access to the vehicle interior. If belongings are permitted, follow the assigned carrier’s written placement and weight instructions and keep the driver area, controls and visibility clear enough for safe loading/unloading. Do not load loose objects that can move around the cabin.
Carrier cargo coverage and transportation documents should be reviewed for the vehicle shipment itself. Personal property inside the vehicle may be excluded or subject to different terms. Phoenix does not represent personal items as insured unless the applicable written coverage/documentation says so.
Even when ordinary belongings are permitted, using the vehicle as a substitute moving container creates avoidable risk and can conflict with the assigned carrier’s terms.
Hawaii, Alaska and other ocean/terminal moves can involve carrier- and port-specific acceptance rules that are stricter than an ordinary lower-48 road move. Follow the actual ocean carrier or terminal instructions for that booking.
Phoenix does not treat a commonly advertised company limit as a universal federal allowance. Personal-property acceptance varies by the responsible parties and shipment. Confirm the written rule that applies to your assigned move.
Do not assume so. Review the assigned carrier’s actual policy and shipment documents. Phoenix does not represent personal items as covered unless the applicable documentation expressly supports that conclusion.
Phoenix recommends removing valuables, cash, important documents, medications and irreplaceable property even when ordinary belongings are permitted.
