Why the key can matter even when the engine does not need to run

The physical loading question is whether the vehicle can be safely positioned. Depending on the vehicle, the key/fob may control steering lock, gear selection, electronic parking brake release, ignition/accessory power or a manufacturer transport mode. Provide the exact year/make/model because the procedure is not universal.

Auction or salvage listings can be missing keys, but the facility’s release and loading rules still control the handoff. Confirm whether the yard will position the vehicle, whether that help is available for the actual condition and whether the assigned carrier equipment can accept it.
